Directors

Ross Corbett

Ross Corbett
Ross is TRC's Managing Director with 20 years experience in tourism and outdoor recreation. His skills range from strategic and operational planning, product development and business advice to organisational reviews, assessment of impacts on tourism and recreation from development proposals, capability building and training. He works throughout New Zealand, and on pro-poor tourism projects in South and South East Asia and the Pacific.

 




 

 

 

Dave Bamford

Dave Bamford
Dave is a founding director of TRC with over 30 years experience in sustainable tourism throughout Asia, the Pacific, New Zealand and recently Chile. He specialises in tourism, parks and recreation planning and management, business development, team leadership and management, and assessment of impacts on tourism and recreation from development proposals. He has considerable experience in small business development and addressing poverty alleviation through tourism.

 

 

 





 

Consultants, Associates & Office Management

 

Jo Breese
Jo Breese has over 20 years experience in conservation management and environmental leadership. Formerly the CEO of WWF-New Zealand (World Wildlife Fund), her skills include strategy development and advice, organisational review and development, team leadership and management, NGO and community perspectives, and mentoring and coaching. Jo works on a variety of conservation and tourism-related projects throughout New Zealand, the Pacific and Asia. Jo works out of the Wellington office in New Zealand.

 

 

 



 

Lisa Choegyal

Lisa Choegyal
Lisa has lived in Nepal for over 30 years and specialises in strategic marketing and product development especially quality nature and wildlife resorts throughout Asia and the South Pacific. Lisa has been involved in marketing and operating ecotourism resorts for more than 25 years and is a leading figure in this field for South Asia. Lisa lives in Kathmandu, Nepal.

 

 

 



 

Mal Clarbrough

Mal Clarbrough
Mal has over 30 years of practical experience in the management of national parks and protected areas in New Zealand and over 18 years experience with overseas development projects in Nepal, Mongolia and Indonesia. Mal lives in Christchurch, New Zealand.


 

Les Clark

Les Clark
Les was a founding director of TRC and has over 30 years experience in planning for tourism in order to benefit local communities and protect natural and built environments. For the last 15 years, Les has worked extensively throughout most of Asia and parts of the Pacific. Les also works on tourism development and feasibility projects in New Zealand and is based in the Wellington office in New Zealand.

 

 

 


 

Tim Grubb
Tim is part of TRC's Wellington-based team and has a background in sustainability planning and advice, qualitative and quantitative research, and strategic feasibility and planning. He also has experience at the forefront of the tourism and hospitality industry. Tim works on a number of projects in New Zealand and overseas, and is the advisor for the STAR programme in Wellington and Marlborough.

 

 

 


 

 

 

 

Leanne Harrison

Leanne Harrison
Leanne has 10 years experience in development and livelihood projects in Cambodia, the Pacific and the Caribbean. Leanne has worked with communities, multi-lateral donors, NGOs and country governments on a range of sustainable initiatives in small island nations. She works from her home office in Gisborne, New Zealand.


 

 

 

 

Hilary Marwick

Hilary Marwick

Hilary is based in our Wellington office in New Zealand. Hilary has over 20 years experience in the travel industry, financial and project management and the UK diplomatic service (London, Brussels and Bonn). Hilary manages TRC contracts and client relationships throughout New Zealand, Asia, the Pacific and Latin America.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Achim Munz

Achim Munz
Achim works in TRC's representative office in Hanoi, Viet Nam. He has 6 years experience in the tourism sector including hospitality management, market research and analysis, feasibility studies, strategic planning and project management. Achim is currently working on a number of projects throughout Viet Nam.



 

Roshni Stephens

Roshni Stephens
Roshni is based in the Wellington office and manages the office systems including our website, marketing collateral, project records and report production. Roshni studied tourism management at Victoria University and has previously worked in hotel sales and marketing and at the visitor centre at New Zealand's parliament.

 

 

 

 


 

 

Dr Louise Twining-Ward
Louise has over 15 years experience in the development of tools and processes for sustainable destination management and human resource development. Louise lives in New York City and has worked throughout the South Pacific, parts of Asia, Western Europe and the Caribbean. Louise is one of very few specialists in the world in the field of sustainable indicators for tourism planning and development.

 

 

 



 

Debby van der Scheer

Debby van der Scheer
Debby has over 10 years experience in tourism marketing, market research and product development. She has worked for Regional Tourism Organisations and for Tourism New Zealand including 2 years in the London office managing trade relationships with wholesalers and agents. Debby works throughout New Zealand, Asia and the Pacific on strategic planning projects, market demand assessments, product development and feasibility studies. Debby is based at her home office in Raglan, in the North Island of New Zealand.

 

 

 

 

 


 

Nicole Wadsworth
Nicole is based in the Wellington office and works with the consulting team across a range of assignments, carrying out project research and support. Nicole has a degree in Tourism Management from Victoria University and was TRC¡¦s Sustainable Tourism Intern in 2009.

 

 

 

 

 


 

 

Bruce Watson
Bruce lives in Hokitika, on the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand. He has had a 30-year professional career in environmental sector management, ecotourism, community development, national parks, cultural and historic heritage and forestry. Bruce has worked throughout Asia, the Pacific and extensively on the West Coast of New Zealand.

 

 

Jimmy Young

Jimmy Young
Jimmy is based in the Wellington office and has over 10 years experience in tourism planning, industry development and the funding and structure of tourism organisations. He also has a special interest in developing and marketing the outdoor adventure sector. Jimmy has spent the last 8 years as a tourism consultant in Canada working with provincial governments, tourism operators, NGOs, resorts and regional tourism organisations.

Celestino Ulep

Celestino Ulep – Philippines
Celestino has a 30-year background in architecture, urban planning, natural resource management and more recently, ecotourism. He lives in Manila and works throughout the Philippines on sustainable tourism projects.





 

Stuart Green - Philippines
Stuart is based in the Philippines where he has lived for the last 11 years specialising in coastal and fisheries management projects. He has worked throughout the Philippines, Viet Nam, parts of Indonesia and the North Pacific.


 

 



 

Le Van Lanh - Vietnam

Le Van Lanh - Viet Nam
Le Van Lanh has worked for over 20 years in protected areas management and ecotourism planning in Viet Nam. He is currently the executive director of Viet Nam’s National Park Centre (NPC) and is Secretary General of Viet Nam National Parks and Protected Areas Sub-Association (VNPPA). Le Van Lanh lives in Hanoi and works throughout Viet Nam.
